Our Commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Leadership

At EBC Financial Group, we are dedicated to driving positive change by embedding ESG principles and social responsibility into every aspect of our operations. As the world faces the dual challenges of environmental degradation and public health threats, we recognise the need for finance to play a transformative role in building resilient communities and ecosystems.

EBC Financial Group: Advancing ESG and Social Impact Through Global Health Partnerships

Tackling the Link Between Environment and Disease

On World Environment Day 2025, EBC Financial Group highlighted the urgent connection between environmental neglect—such as plastic pollution and deforestation—and the spread of mosquito-borne diseases like malaria. Our ongoing partnership with the United Nations Foundation’s United to Beat Malaria campaign is at the heart of our efforts to address these intertwined crises.

"We often view malaria as a medical issue—but it's also an ecological one," said David Barrett, CEO of EBC Financial Group (UK) Ltd. "Plastic waste, deforestation, and warming temperatures all create the perfect storm for mosquitoes to thrive. Through our partnership with United to Beat Malaria, we're investing in scalable, frontline interventions that protect both people and ecosystems."

ESG Initiatives and Measurable Impact

Strategic Partnerships and Employee Engagement

  • In 2025, EBC became an official corporate sponsor of the Move Against Malaria 5K, mobilising over 200 employees across our offices in the UK, Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

  • This initiative, held from 25 April to 10 May 2025, deepened engagement and advocacy at every level of the company, reinforcing our commitment to integrating social impact into our leadership and culture.

Supporting Frontline Health Solutions

  • Our partnership directly funds insecticide-treated bed nets, rapid diagnostic kits, and antimalarial treatments in the regions most affected by malaria.

  • In 2024, United to Beat Malaria protected 1.67 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa and across 20 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, where healthcare access and climate resilience are critical challenges.

Policy Advocacy and Global Collaboration

  • EBC leadership, including David Barrett and Samuel Hertz, Director of Operations, participated in the 2025 United to Beat Malaria Annual Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C..

  • There, we joined over 120 advocates and policymakers to call for sustained investment in global health, engaging in direct policy discussions to support pivotal programmes such as the President’s Malaria Initiative, The Global Fund, and UN-led interventions.

"Finance can be a force for regeneration," Barrett commented. "That's why we're supporting community-led health interventions, amplifying awareness, and backing solutions that address the root causes—not just the symptoms—of inequality."

Aligning With Global Sustainability Goals

EBC’s actions are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those focused on good health and well-being, climate action, and partnerships for the goals. We believe that ecological stewardship, health protection, and economic stability must be pursued together to create lasting impact.

Looking Forward: Our Vision for Sustainable Finance

As we continue to expand our ESG initiatives, EBC Financial Group remains committed to fostering cross-sector collaboration and supporting community-led solutions that address both environmental and health challenges. We invite partners, clients, and stakeholders to join us in advancing climate-smart finance and building a healthier, more equitable future for all.
