14th August 2025 - (Hong Kong) The Hang Seng Index opened 152 points higher, marking a 0.6% rise to 25,766 points. The China Enterprises Index climbed 62 points, or 0.69%, to 9,213 points, while the Technology Index gained 38 points, or 0.69%, to 5,669 points.
Technology stocks performed well across the board. Tencent reported a 10% increase in quarterly profits, boosting its share price by 2.39% to HK$600. Other tech giants also saw gains, with Kuaishou rising 1.6%, Meituan up 1.53%, Xiaomi Group increasing by 1.31%, and Alibaba advancing 0.89%.
In the financial sector, HSBC Holdings edged up 0.18%, Ping An Insurance rose 0.35%, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing gained 1.82%, and AIA Group increased by 0.2%.
