Brazil Stocks Lower at Close of Trade; Bovespa Down 0.24%

Investing - Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Public Utilities and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos, which rose 8.29% or 2.89 points to trade at 37.77 at the close. Meanwhile, Ultrapar Participacoes SA added 4.01% or 0.68 points to end at 17.64 and MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA was up 3.61% or 0.25 points to 7.17 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Raizen SA Preferred, which fell 12.50% or 0.15 points to trade at 1.05 at the close. Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais SA USIMINAS Pref declined 7.19% or 0.31 points to end at 4.00 and Cosan SA Industria e Comercio was down 6.57% or 0.38 points to 5.40.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 475 to 447 and 59 ended unchanged.
Shares in Raizen SA Preferred fell to all time lows; down 12.50% or 0.15 to 1.05. Shares in Cosan SA Industria e Comercio fell to 5-year lows; losing 6.57% or 0.38 to 5.40.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.47% to 24.13 a new 52-week low.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.76% or 25.83 to $3,382.47 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.17% or 1.36 to hit $64.01 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 2.10% or 6.70 to trade at $326.30.
USD/BRL was up 0.33% to 5.42, while EUR/BRL fell 0.19% to 6.31.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 98.05.
