Investing - Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Public Utilities and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 2.10%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Minerva SA/Brazil, which rose 2.93% or 0.15 points to trade at 5.27 at the close. Meanwhile, Suzano Papel e Celulose SA added 0.78% or 0.41 points to end at 53.01 and Hypera SA was up 0.48% or 0.11 points to 23.16 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Raizen SA Preferred, which fell 9.57% or 0.11 points to trade at 1.04 at the close. Cosan SA Industria e Comercio declined 6.41% or 0.37 points to end at 5.40 and Banco do Brasil SA was down 6.03% or 1.27 points to 19.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 531 to 402 and 52 ended unchanged.
Shares in Raizen SA Preferred fell to all time lows; losing 9.57% or 0.11 to 1.04. Shares in Cosan SA Industria e Comercio fell to 5-year lows; down 6.41% or 0.37 to 5.40.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.62% to 24.23.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.54% or 18.10 to $3,359.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.15% or 0.72 to hit $61.98 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 4.67% or 15.70 to trade at $351.75 .
USD/BRL was up 1.21% to 5.50, while EUR/BRL rose 1.09% to 6.41.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 98.14. (AI)
