Mexico Stocks Lower at Close of Trade; S&P/BMV IPC Down 0.41%

• Mexico's S&P/BMV IPC Index fell 0.41% on Wednesday, led by declines in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services, and Consumer Staples sectors.
• Top gainers: Qualitas (+2.27%), FEMSA UBD (+1.77%), and Industrias Peoles (+1.39); Top losers: Grupo Televisa (-3.26%), Becle (-3.18%), and Grupo Mexico (-2.01%).
• Commodities and currency movements: Gold rose 1% to $3,392.15/oz; WTI crude gained 1.76% to $62.86/barrel; USD/MXN rose 0.17% to 18.77 and EUR/MXN increased 0.21% to 21.88.

Investing - Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.41%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV, which rose 2.27% or 3.86 points to trade at 173.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD added 1.77% or 2.82 points to end at 161.90 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV was up 1.39% or 7.31 points to 534.69 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Televisa SAB Unit, which fell 3.26% or 0.30 points to trade at 8.89 at the close. Becle SA declined 3.18% or 0.69 points to end at 21.00 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. was down 2.01% or 2.55 points to 124.49.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 142 to 92 and 20 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.00% or 33.45 to $3,392.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.76% or 1.09 to hit $62.86 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $66.94 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.17% to 18.77, while EUR/MXN rose 0.21% to 21.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 98.16. (AI)
