25th August 2025 - (Hong Kong) The Hang Seng Index opened higher, surging by 267 points or 1.05% to 25,606 points. The China Enterprises Index also climbed 97 points or 1.06% to 9,176 points, while the Technology Index increased by 84 points or 1.48% to 5,731 points.
Technology stocks led the upward momentum, with Tencent gaining 1.4%, Alibaba rising 2%, Meituan up 0.5%, Xiaomi advancing 0.8%, JD.com climbing 2.1%, and Kuaishou increasing by 2%.
Financial stocks also provided strong support to the market. HSBC Holdings rose by 0.4%, AIA gained 1.1%, Ping An Insurance increased by 1%, and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing climbed by 1.3%.
