Russia Stocks Higher at Close of Trade; MOEX Index Up 0.76%

  • Russian stocks closed higher: The MOEX Russia Index rose 0.76%, supported by Mining, Oil & Gas, and Power sectors.
  • Top gainers: AFK Sistema (+2.84%), RusHydro (+2.59%), and Aeroflot (+2.14%) led the session.
  • Mixed movers: Rosneft (-0.85%), Rostelekom (-0.82%), and PhosAgro (-0.52%) were among the weakest performers, while overall advancing stocks outnumbered decliners.

Investing - Russia stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index rose 0.76%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were AFK Sistema PJSC , which rose 2.84% or 0.46 points to trade at 16.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Federal Hydro Generating Company RusHydro PJSC added 2.59% or 0.01 points to end at 0.49 and Aeroflot PJSC was up 2.14% or 1.29 points to 61.67 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Rosneft PJSC , which fell 0.85% or 3.85 points to trade at 447.95 at the close. Rostelekom PJSC declined 0.82% or 0.58 points to end at 70.20 and PhosAgro PJSC was down 0.52% or 36.00 points to 6,934.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 158 to 79 and 12 ended unchanged.
The Russian Volatility Index - RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 1.22% to 30.65.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.77% or 27.50 to $3,619.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.77% or 1.82 to hit $63.77 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to trade at $67.39 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 81.04, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 94.46.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 98.10. (AI)
