Investing - Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumption and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Cosan SA Industria e Comercio, which rose 8.00% or 0.50 points to trade at 6.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Raizen SA Preferred added 4.96% or 0.06 points to end at 1.27 and Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica was up 2.93% or 0.11 points to 3.86 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Brava Energia SA, which fell 2.97% or 0.59 points to trade at 19.30 at the close. IRB Brasil Resseguros SA declined 2.24% or 1.05 points to end at 45.85 and Ambev SA was down 2.14% or 0.26 points to 11.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 516 to 415 and 53 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 8.97% to 26.86.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.88% or 31.45 to $3,623.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.56% or 1.68 to hit $63.91 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 0.70% or 2.60 to trade at $372.95.
USD/BRL was down 0.18% to 5.45, while EUR/BRL unchanged 0.00% to 6.36.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 98.08. (AI)
