The trade surplus in Slovenia narrowed to EUR 170.7 million in July 2025 from EUR 235.6 million in the same month last year, as imports rose faster than exports. Exports increased 8.5% year-on-year to EUR 5,978.1 million, driven by higher sales to non-EU countries (19.7%), while it decreased for EU countries (-2.5%). Meanwhile, imports climbed 10.1% to EUR 5,807.4 million, with increased purchases from the EU countries (10.5%) and non-EU countries (9.6%). Considering the first seven months of the year, the country recorded a trade surplus of EUR 972.9 million, a significant shift from a deficit of EUR 2,335 million in the corresponding period of the previous year.
