Energy firms in the US added 55 billion cubic feet (bcf) of gas into storage to 3,272 bcf during the week that ended August 29th, 2025, loosely meeting market expectations of a 55 bcf build. The build was sharply higher than the 13bcf increase from the corresponding period of the previous year as record-high production levels were enough to offset ample demand and soaring levels of LNG exports from the US. With the build, storages remained 2.2% below the corresponding period of the previous year, but held at levels 5.6% above the current five-year average.
