Mexico Stocks Higher at Close of Trade; S&P/BMV IPC Up 0.36%

  • Index movement: Mexico's S&P/BMV IPC rose 0.36% on Thursday, closing at a record high, boosted by industrials and consumer-related sectors.
  • Top gainers: Grupo Carso (+3.78%), Coca-Cola Femsa (+2.66%), and FEMSA (+2.25%) led the rally.
  • Losers: Industrias Peoles (-3.99%), Orbia (-2.95%), and Regional (-2.41%) weighed on the index, though advancers outnumbered decliners 163 to 81.

Investing - Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.36% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V., which rose 3.78% or 4.67 points to trade at 128.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Coca-Cola Femsa SAB de CV added 2.66% or 4.05 points to end at 156.29 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD was up 2.25% or 3.52 points to 160.01 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV, which fell 3.99% or 28.78 points to trade at 692.74 at the close. Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV declined 2.95% or 0.45 points to end at 14.78 and Regional SAB de CV was down 2.41% or 3.60 points to 145.92.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 163 to 81 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.91% or 33.20 to $3,602.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.00% or 0.64 to hit $63.33 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $66.86 a barrel.
USD/MXN was unchanged 0.01% to 18.72, while EUR/MXN rose 0.11% to 21.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 98.25. (AI)
