Industrial production in Hungary fell by 1% year-on-year in July 2025, slowing from a 4.9% drop in the previous month, preliminary estimates showed. This marked the fourth month of contraction in industrial activity but the softest pace in the sequence, mainly driven by increased production of vehicles, food, beverages and tobacco products, and computer, electronic and optical products. On the other hand, output declined for electrical equipment. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial activity advanced by 2% in July, the highest since October 2024 and recovering from a 1.2% decrease in the preceding period. Considering the first seven months of the year, industrial output was 3.5% lower compared to the same period a year earlier.
