The trade deficit in Greece rose slightly to EUR 2.9 billion in July 2025 from EUR 2.8 billion in the corresponding month a year earlier, as exports fell much faster than imports. Exports declined by 7.3% year-on-year to EUR 4.4 billion, dragged by a steep drop in sales to non-EU countries (-16.8%), which offset a modest rise in shipments to the EU (+0.9%). Meanwhile, imports decreased by 3.1% to EUR 7.3 billion amid reduced purchases from non-EU countries (-10.0%), while imports from the EU increased (+3.5%). Considering the first seven months of the year, the country’s trade gap narrowed slightly to EUR 19.5 billion from EUR 19.6 billion in the same period last year.
