Hungary Inflation Steady at 4.3% in August

The annual inflation rate in Hungary rose 4.3% in August 2025, the same pace as in the previous month and matching market forecasts. Higher costs were seen for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (7.3% vs 6.9%), electricity, gas and other fuels (11.0% vs 10.9%), services (5.4% vs 5.3%), and consumer durables (2.4% vs 2.1%). Meanwhile, inflation remained the same for food and non-alcoholic beverages (5.9%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices stalled in August from 0.4% in the previous month.
