Japan's Nikkei Stock Average is trading higher, supported by overnight gains on Wall Street amid growing expectations of deeper Fed rate cuts.
Financial and energy-related stocks are leading the gains with Mitsubishi UFJ Financial up 1.4%, Sumitomo Mitsui Financial rising 1.0%, and Nomura adding 0.9%.
Tokyo Gas is 1.9% higher, amid rising oil prices due to Middle East tensions. Meanwhile, auto stocks are lower with Toyota and Honda, down 1.6% and 1.5%, respectively.
The Nikkei is up 0.4% at 43645.67, after hitting the 44000 level for the first time on Tuesday.
