Household spending in Sweden rose by 0.2% month-on-month in July 2025, easing from a 0.6% gain in the previous month. At the same time, spending fell for transport and retail sales and service of motor vehicles (-2.6% vs 3.5%) and housing, electricity, gas, and heating (-0.7% vs -0.6%). Meanwhile, consumption recovered for food and beverages (2.3% vs -1.1%), furniture, furnishings household equipment and consumables (3.3% vs -0.2%), post and telecommunications (3.5% vs -0.7%), restaurants, cafes, hotels and other accommodation services (0.2% vs -1.4%), and other goods and services (0.3% vs -2.5%). On a year-on-year basis, household consumption grew by 2.4%, slowing from an upwardly revised 2.6% increase in the preceding period.
