The annual inflation rate in Oman slowed to 0.5% in August 2025, marking the lowest level since November 2024 and easing from 0.8% in the previous month. The easing was largely driven by sustained deflation in food and non-alcoholic beverages (-1.8% vs. -1.4% in July), alongside continued price drops in recreation and culture (-0.2%) and furnishings and household maintenance (-0.1%). Additional downward pressure came from a notable slowdown in transport inflation (2.7% vs. 4%) and miscellaneous goods and services (5.3% vs. 6.5%), while price growth remained steady for restaurants and hotels (2.5%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.5%, reversing a 0.2% increase in the prior period.
