Rwanda's overall inflation rate decelerated for a second consecutive month in August 2025, reaching a five-month low of 6.4%, down from 7.2% in July. Prices slowed primarily for food & non-alcoholic beverages & tobacco (5% vs 6.5% in July); restaurants & hotels (16.8% vs 17.6%) and housing & utilities (1.9% vs 2.3%). On a monthly basis, the CPI rose by 0.7% in August, after a 0.6% decrease in the prior month.
