Russia Stocks Lower at Close of Trade; MOEX Index Down 0.23%

Investing - Russia stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mining and Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index lost 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Bank VTB PJSC , which rose 5.20% or 3.85 points to trade at 77.95 at the close. Meanwhile, ROSSETI PJSC unchanged 1.60% or 0.00 points to end at 0.07 and AK ALROSA PJSC was up 1.42% or 0.67 points to 47.84 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Novolipetsk Steel, which fell 1.99% or 2.40 points to trade at 118.10 at the close. Severstal PJSC declined 1.74% or 18.80 points to end at 1,063.00 and AFK Sistema PJSC was down 1.71% or 0.28 points to 15.87.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 125 to 116 and 11 ended unchanged.
The Russian Volatility Index - RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 1.61% to 32.46.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.23% or 8.60 to $3,673.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.21% or 1.41 to hit $62.26 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.05% or 0.03 to trade at $66.26 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 84.92, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 99.18.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 97.54. (AI)
