Romania Current Account Deficit Narrows in July

Romania's current account deficit narrowed to EUR 2,508 million in July 2025, from EUR 3,009 million in the same month of the previous year. The goods account shortfall decreased to EUR 1,838 million, compared to EUR 1,946 million in July 2024. Moreover, the primary income deficit fell to EUR 809 million from EUR 1,017 million, while the secondary income account recorded a surplus of EUR 139 million—a significant improvement from a EUR 47 million deficit. Meanwhile, the services account surplus declined to EUR 915 million in July 2025 from EUR 965 million a year earlier.
