Finnish Inflation Rate Edges Higher

The annual inflation rate in Finland rose slightly to 0.5% in August 2025 from 0.2% in the previous month. Prices accelerated for alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics (4.93% vs 3.99% in July), communication (6.27% vs 5.81%), restaurants and hotels (2.27% vs 1.26%). At the same time, prices recovered for clothing and footwear (0.38% vs -0.60%). In contrast, prices moderated for food and non-alcoholic beverages (2.58% vs 3.07%) and transport (6.69% vs 6.85%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.2% in August, following a 0.2% rise in the prior month.
