Russia Stocks Lower at Close of Trade; MOEX Index Down 0.98%

• MOEX Index falls: The Moscow Exchange closed down 0.98% at a one-month low, dragged by declines in telecom, mining, and energy stocks.
• Top gainers & losers: Polyus PJSC rose 1.39%, while Rostelekom dropped 3.97%, PIK SHb fell 3.69%, and Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank lost 3.05%.
• Broad market weakness: Decliners outnumbered advancers (175 vs. 65), while the Russian Volatility Index (RVI) edged up 0.33% to 33.76.

Investing- Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mining and Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index declined 0.98% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Polyus PJSC , which rose 1.39% or 32.20 points to trade at 2,345.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Surgutneftegas PJSC Pref added 0.36% or 0.16 points to end at 44.19 and GDR ROS PLC ORD SHS was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to 1,083.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Rostelekom PJSC , which fell 3.97% or 2.61 points to trade at 63.13 at the close. PIK SHb PJSC declined 3.69% or 22.20 points to end at 580.10 and Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO was down 3.05% or 0.24 points to 7.54.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 175 to 65 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in GDR ROS PLC ORD SHS unchanged to 52-week lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to 1,083.80.
The Russian Volatility Index - RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 0.33% to 33.76.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.90% or 33.10 to $3,719.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.96% or 0.60 to hit $63.29 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $67.47 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 83.00, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 97.65.
