18th September 2025 - (Hong Kong) The Hang Seng Index started the day down by 44 points or 0.17%, standing at 26,863 points. The H-share Index was at 9,574 points, marking a decline of 22 points or 0.23%, while the Technology Index opened flat at 6,334 points.
In the realm of major technology stocks, individual developments were noted. Alibaba saw a rise of 0.31%, Tencent increased by 0.08%, Meituan dropped by 0.29%, JD.com declined by 0.37%, and Xiaomi fell by 0.95%. Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation ( SMIC ) witnessed a rise of over 1%.
The performance of financial stocks varied, with HSBC Holdings climbing by 0.19%, AIA Group showing no significant change, China Ping An dropping by 0.63%, and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing falling by 0.61%.
