Poland Producer Deflation Softest in 5-Months

Producer prices in Poland fell by 1.2% year-on-year in August 2025, surpassing market forecasts of a 0.9% decline but easing from an upwardly revised 1.3% drop in the previous month. This marked the softest producer deflation since March, as prices decreased at a slower pace for mining and quarrying (-6.9% vs -8.2% in July), manufacturing (-1.1% vs -1.2%), and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-0.8% vs -0.9%). Additionally, costs increased faster for water supply and waste management (2.6% vs 2.5%). On a monthly basis, producer prices went down by 0.4% in August, following an upwardly revised 0.2% loss in the preceding period.
