Investing - Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Consumption and Electric Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.06%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Natura & Co SA, which rose 16.46% or 1.46 points to trade at 10.33 at the close. Meanwhile, Motiva Infraestrutura de Mobilidade SA added 2.29% or 0.34 points to end at 15.17 and Hypera SA was up 2.08% or 0.49 points to 24.07 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais SA USIMINAS Pref, which fell 5.40% or 0.25 points to trade at 4.38 at the close. Azzas 2154 SA declined 3.37% or 1.14 points to end at 32.65 and Grupo Vamos SA was down 2.96% or 0.12 points to 3.93.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 489 to 441 and 67 ended unchanged.
Shares in Motiva Infraestrutura de Mobilidade SA rose to 5-year highs; gaining 2.29% or 0.34 to 15.17.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.73% to 25.67.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.03% or 38.43 to $3,679.37 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.64% or 0.41 to hit $63.64 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 1.36% or 5.10 to trade at $380.75.
USD/BRL was up 0.11% to 5.31, while EUR/BRL fell 0.13% to 6.26.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.50% at 97.00. (AI)
