Denmark’s consumer confidence index declined to -18.7 in September 2025 from -17.2 in August, marking its lowest level since March 2023. The decline was primarily driven by worsening sentiment regarding the country’s economic situation over the past year (-29.1 vs -26.3 in August), as well as households’ financial situations compared to a year ago (-19 vs -13). Assessments of households’ current financial situations also deteriorated (-6.7 vs -5.4). However, sentiment toward the country’s economic outlook over the next twelve months was less pessimistic, improving to -21.7 from -25.5 in August. Among components not included in the overall confidence indicator, concerns about unemployment over the next twelve months continued to rise (13.9 vs 11.9), while expectations for price developments in the coming year eased (29.6 vs 35.4).
