Producer prices in Sweden dropped by 0.7% year-on-year in August 2025, following a 0.6% decline in July. This marked the sixth consecutive month of deflation, primarily driven by significantly steeper contractions in capital goods prices (-2.2% vs -0.2% in July). The decline was partially offset by a softer increase in consumer goods prices, which rose by 0.6%, down from a 2.0% gain in the previous month, while energy-related products rebounded (10.9% vs -0.8%). Excluding energy-related products, producer prices fell by 2.2% year-on-year—a sharper drop compared to the 0.6% decline recorded in July. On a monthly basis, the Producer Price Index (PPI) rose by 0.5% in August, marking the second consecutive monthly increase after a 1.1% rise in July.
