Retail sales in Lithuania rose by 6.4% year-on-year in August 2025, accelerating from a downwardly revised 4.7% growth in July. This marked the strongest increase in retail activity since December 2024, primarily driven by a continued surge in non-food product sales, which grew 14.8%, unchanged from the previous month. Automotive fuel sales also rebounded slightly (0.1% vs -5.8% in July), as did sales of food, beverages, and tobacco, which rose 0.4%, recovering from a 0.4% decline in July. Meanwhile, sales at non-specialized stores edged down 0.1%, a softer drop compared to the 0.9% fall in the previous month. On a monthly basis, retail sales increased by 1.7% in August, accelerating from a downwardly revised 1.1% gain in July and marking the fastest pace in four months.
