The annual inflation rate in Macau rose to 0.27% in August 2025, from July’s four-month low of 0.12%. Prices increased for food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.44% vs 0.30% in July), housing and fuels (0.33% vs 0.22%), health (0.58% vs 0.54%), and alcoholic beverages and tobacco (0.69% vs 0.60%). Costs also rebounded for household furnishings and services (0.21% vs -0.20%). Meanwhile, price growth eased for recreation and culture (2.45% vs 3.21%) and miscellaneous goods and services (1.54% vs 1.62%). At the same time, prices for transport (-1.27% vs -2.30%) and clothing and footwear (-2.09% vs -2.54%) continued to decline, although at a slower pace. On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose by 0.11% in August, the same pace as in the previous month.
