The unemployment rate in Macau stood at 2% in August 2025, unchanged from the previous month and remaining the highest level since March 2024. The number of unemployed individuals remained constant at 7,600, while overall employment increased slightly by 100 month-over-month to reach 371,600. Most jobseekers were previously employed in the hotels and similar activities, and gaming sectors. Meanwhile, the labor force participation rate stood at 66.4% in August.
