Bulgaria Tourist Arrivals Rise 6.3% in August

The number of tourist arrivals in Bulgaria increased by 6.3% year-on-year to 2,269.9 thousand in August 2025, following a 5.6% rise in the previous month. An increase in the trips with all observed purposes was registered, with the majority of visits for holiday and recreation purposes (52.9%), followed by trips for other purposes (42.1%), and professional purposes (5%). The EU accounted for 59.5% of the total visits to Bulgaria, with the largest number of visitors coming from Romania (31.4%), followed by Germany (19.6%), and Poland (7.9%). Arrivals from other European countries constituted 32.6% of the total, mainly from Turkey (45.3%).
