Business confidence in Portugal stood at 2.9 in September 2025, remaining at its highest level since June 2019 and unchanged from the previous month. Optimism persisted among traders (1.9 vs 1.3 in August), of which retailers (3.6 vs 2.9) and wholesalers (0.1 vs -0.5) recorded increases. Sentiment was also less pessimistic among manufacturers (-3.0 vs -3.3). On the other hand, confidence weakened among service providers (12.4 vs 13.5) and constructors (2.7 vs 3.9).
