Brazil’s Outstanding Credit Rises in August

The value of outstanding loans in Brazil rose 0.5% to R$6.8 trillion in August 2025, accelerating from a 0.4% increase in July. Corporate credit increased 0.2% to R$2.5 trillion and household lending rose 0.7% to R$4.2 trillion. On an annual basis, credit growth slowed to 10.1% from 10.8% in July. Corporate credit eased to 8.7% year-on-year, from 9.5% in July, and household lending slowed to 11% from 11.6%.
