Investing - Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index declined 1.58% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Polyus PJSC , which rose 2.86% or 66.40 points to trade at 2,386.60 at the close. Meanwhile, MMC NORILSK NICKEL PJSC added 2.51% or 3.10 points to end at 125.90 and PhosAgro PJSC was up 1.93% or 138.00 points to 7,292.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Rostelekom PJSC , which fell 5.45% or 3.37 points to trade at 58.45 at the close. VK Company Ltd declined 4.95% or 14.70 points to end at 282.50 and IPJSC YANDEX was down 3.83% or 157.00 points to 3,940.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 190 to 51 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in PhosAgro PJSC rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.93% or 138.00 to 7,292.00.
The Russian Volatility Index - RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 9.38% to 34.18.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.42% or 54.05 to $3,863.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 3.90% or 2.56 to hit $63.16 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $66.77 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 82.70, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 97.42.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 97.63. (AI)
