The current account deficit in Croatia widened to EUR 1,948 million in the second quarter of 2025, up from EUR 1,469 million in the same period last year. The increase was driven by a larger goods deficit, which rose to EUR 5,427 million from EUR 5,381 million in Q2 2024, as well as a shortfall in primary income, which grew from EUR 69 million to EUR 338 million. At the same time, the services surplus narrowed to EUR 3,278 million from EUR 3,412 million, while the secondary income surplus edged lower to EUR 539 million from EUR 568 million. Considering the first two quarters of the year, the current account deficit widened to EUR 5,581 million, compared with EUR 4,388 million in the same period a year earlier.
