Investing - Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Electric Power and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica, which rose 5.28% or 0.21 points to trade at 4.19 at the close. Meanwhile, Braskem SA added 4.57% or 0.30 points to end at 6.87 and Companhia Siderurgica Nacional was up 3.92% or 0.31 points to 8.21 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Vamos SA, which fell 4.06% or 0.14 points to trade at 3.31 at the close. Cvc Brasil ON declined 3.59% or 0.07 points to end at 1.88 and Ultrapar Participacoes SA was down 3.46% or 0.76 points to 21.21.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 517 to 472 and 56 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Vamos SA fell to all time lows; falling 4.06% or 0.14 to 3.31.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.08% to 25.92.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.43% or 16.47 to $3,889.67 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.87% or 0.54 to hit $61.83 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 2.57% or 9.65 to trade at $384.50.
USD/BRL was up 0.19% to 5.33, while EUR/BRL rose 0.13% to 6.25.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 97.46. (AI)
