Investing - Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Real Estate, Consumption and Public Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were WEG SA, which rose 4.79% or 1.70 points to trade at 37.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Auren Energia SA added 3.47% or 0.36 points to end at 10.73 and Porto Seguro SA was up 1.73% or 0.79 points to 46.37 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Brava Energia SA, which fell 5.09% or 0.86 points to trade at 16.03 at the close. Raizen SA Preferred declined 4.35% or 0.04 points to end at 0.88 and Marfrig Global Foods was down 4.27% or 0.75 points to 16.81.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 520 to 401 and 73 ended unchanged.
Shares in Raizen SA Preferred fell to all time lows; losing 4.35% or 0.04 to 0.88.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.08% to 25.75.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.94% or 79.03 to $3,991.47 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.76% or 1.10 to hit $61.45 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 1.99% or 7.65 to trade at $377.45.
USD/BRL was up 0.63% to 5.38, while EUR/BRL unchanged 0.00% to 6.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.52% at 99.15. (AI)
