Mexico Stocks Lower at Close of Trade; S&P/BMV IPC Down 0.43%

• The S&P/BMV IPC Index fell 0.43% on Tuesday, dragged down by losses in Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services, and Consumer Staples sectors.
• Cemex SAB de CV gained 2.79% to a 5-year high, while Becle SA and Volaris also advanced.
• On the downside, Grupo Comercial Chedraui dropped 4.44%, leading decliners, as 136 stocks rose and 129 fell on the exchange.

Investing - Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC lost 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Cemex SAB de CV, which rose 2.79% or 0.48 points to trade at 17.67 at the close. Meanwhile, Becle SA added 2.65% or 0.53 points to end at 20.52 and Controladora Vuela Compania de Aviacion SAB de CV was up 2.22% or 0.28 points to 12.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Comercial Chedraui, SAB De CV, which fell 4.44% or 6.04 points to trade at 130.13 at the close. Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV declined 2.88% or 4.87 points to end at 164.51 and Regional SAB de CV was down 2.55% or 3.65 points to 139.47.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 136 to 129 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Cemex SAB de CV rose to 5-year highs; rising 2.79% or 0.48 to 17.67.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.64% or 26.60 to $4,159.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.50% or 0.89 to hit $58.60 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.10% or 0.06 to trade at $62.20 a barrel.
USD/MXN was unchanged 0.02% to 18.50, while EUR/MXN rose 0.14% to 21.49.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 98.82. (AI)
