Investing - Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Real Estate, Consumption and Public Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.65%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Sendas Distribuidora SA, which rose 5.98% or 0.49 points to trade at 8.68 at the close. Meanwhile, MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA added 4.81% or 0.30 points to end at 6.54 and Raia Drogasil SA was up 4.54% or 0.85 points to 19.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Embraer SA, which fell 2.44% or 2.02 points to trade at 80.63 at the close. Brava Energia SA declined 2.24% or 0.35 points to end at 15.29 and Prio SA was down 2.04% or 0.72 points to 34.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 561 to 348 and 66 ended unchanged.
Shares in Brava Energia SA fell to all time lows; falling 2.24% or 0.35 to 15.29.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 4.84% to 27.96.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.46% or 60.86 to $4,224.26 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $58.68 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 2.25% or 9.00 to trade at $390.65.
USD/BRL was down 0.43% to 5.46, while EUR/BRL fell 0.20% to 6.35.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 98.45. (AI)
