The Australian sharemarket is lower for a second consecutive session after a technology-fuelled sell-off in New York and further losses in gold weighed on Australian sentiment on Thursday.
The S&P/ASX 200 index fell 0.2 per cent, or 17.10 points, at the open to 9012.90 at 10.10am AEDT , with six of the 11 sectors down.
