Hang Seng Index extends rally to fourth session as HSBC gains ahead of results

28th October 2025 - (Hong Kong) Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index advanced 75 points, or 0.28 per cent, to open at 26,508 on Tuesday, marking its fourth consecutive day of gains. The benchmark was supported by steady performances across major financial stocks ahead of corporate earnings announcements.
The Hang Seng Tech Index rose 27 points, or 0.44 per cent, to 6,198, while the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index added 22 points, or 0.23 per cent, to reach 9,489.
Financial constituents showed particular stability during early trading. HSBC Holdings gained 1.1 per cent ahead of its earnings release later in the day. AIA Group advanced 0.9 per cent, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing added 0.4 per cent, and China Ping An registered a modest 0.1 per cent increase.
Technology stocks presented a mixed picture in morning trade. JD Group led gains with an 0.8 per cent rise, followed by Kuaishou which climbed 1.1 per cent. Alibaba Group registered a slight 0.2 per cent increase, while Tencent Holdings and Meituan held steady without movement. Xiaomi Group declined 0.8 per cent amid the varied sector performance.
