US House Prices Rise the Most this Year: FHFA

The average price of single-family houses with mortgages guaranteed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in the United States rose by 0.4% from the previous month in August of 2025, gaining traction from the revised stall in July to mark the sharpest increase since the start of the year, and above the market consensus of a 0.1% jump. For the nine census divisions, seasonally adjusted monthly home price changes ranged from a 0.8% drop in the Pacific division to a 1.2% increase in the Middle Atlantic division. From the previous year, home prices rose by 2.3%, the softest increase in over 13 years. These were ranging from a 0.6% drop in the Pacific division to 6.3% in the Middle Atlantic division.
