30th October 2025 - (Hong Kong) Hong Kong equities advanced at the open, with the Hang Seng Index rising 199 points, or 0.76 per cent, to 26,545. The China Enterprises Index added 55 points, or 0.59 per cent, to 9,431, while the Tech Index gained 32 points, or 0.53 per cent, to 6,125.
Financials outperformed in early trade. HSBC Holdings rose 2.91 per cent, China Ping An advanced 2.05 per cent, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing added 1.02 per cent, and AIA edged up 0.07 per cent.
Technology shares were mixed. JD.com increased 2.14 per cent, Kuaishou rose 2.04 per cent, Tencent gained 1.86 per cent, Alibaba was up 1.4 per cent, and Meituan added 1.2 per cent. Xiaomi eased 0.8 per cent, while Baidu fell 5.97 per cent.
