Brazil created 213,002 formal jobs in September 2025, up from 147,358 in August, with 2.29 million hires and 2.08 million layoffs. All major sectors added jobs, led by construction (up 0.78% to 23,855) and industry (up 0.47% to 43,095). Services gained 106,606 jobs (0.45%), while commerce and vehicle repairs rose 0.34% to 36,280. Agriculture, livestock, forestry, and fishing grew slightly (0.17% to 3,167). Alagoas posted the largest increase (2.99% to 13,883), followed by Sergipe (1.70%) and Paraíba (1.14%). São Paulo added 49,052 jobs (0.33%), and Rio de Janeiro 16,009 (0.40%). The average admission wage fell to R$2,286.34 from R$2,395.70 in August.
