Brazil Stocks Lower at Close of Trade; Bovespa Down 0.96%

Investing - Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumption, Real Estate and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.96%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Brava Energia SA, which rose 5.26% or 0.74 points to trade at 14.82 at the close. Meanwhile, Vale SA added 1.60% or 1.11 points to end at 70.40 and Suzano Papel e Celulose SA was up 1.53% or 0.75 points to 49.67 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vivara Participacoes SA, which fell 5.27% or 1.82 points to trade at 32.70 at the close. Lojas Renner SA declined 5.03% or 0.70 points to end at 13.23 and Localiza Rent a Car SA was down 4.79% or 2.17 points to 43.13.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 474 to 466 and 41 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.93% to 29.51.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.96% or 41.60 to $4,373.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.21% or 1.22 to hit $56.35 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 1.39% or 4.90 to trade at $347.20.
USD/BRL was unchanged 0.03% to 5.51, while EUR/BRL unchanged 0.04% to 6.48.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 98.02. (AI)
