US DJ 30 The US equity futures are very much in the red now today, but above their earlier lows. On Friday the Dow Jones closed the week at 33,127, with a loss of 286 points on the day. Earlier this morning, the Dow Jones futures were pricing the reopening as low as 33,900. They are off that low now, as just stated, but the way things look right now, it is going to deliver an opening this afternoon at below 33k. I should at this point remind the reader; that the low seen on October 6 was set at 32,846. So, there is a risk of that being taken out at some, if not today, then in the very near future. If that happens then it could reverse the subsequent recovery to 34,147, back the other way. That is not a certain outcome, but certainly a break below 32,846 from now on does open the potential for more downside. Outside of that we have a plethora of Dow stocks reporting this week and it remains to be seen if those reports will help the index withstand the geopolitical and bond market pressure in place right now. The Dow Jones futures are just now pricing the reopening at around 33 111.
