The Nasdaq jumped by 2.69%, the S&P 500 gained 1.55%, and the Dow Jones added 1.4% as expectations of a December Fed rate cut continued to rise. Recent comments from Daly, Waller, and Williams pointed to growing confidence in a cut, although the final decision will depend on inflation, labour market data and industrial activity. Markets now price in roughly a 70–75% chance of easing next month, supporting sentiment across equities and risk assets. 🇯🇵🇺🇸 Takaichi and Trump are expected to discuss Trump’s recent conversation with Xi amid rising tensions around Taiwan. 🇺🇦🇺🇸 The White House described talks with Ukraine as productive, while the European Commission plans to send a team to Washington for further discussions. 🇨🇳🇷🇺 Xi announced a tightening of China’s energy partnership with Russia, with both sides exploring expanded oil exports in response to US sanctions. Oil prices are stabilising near $58.5 per barrel. 🌏 Asian markets followed Wall Street’s momentum. 🌅 Morning Update (26.11.2025) 📈 Asia-Pacific markets are moving higher today. Chinese indices add 0.15–0.40%, 🇯🇵 JP225 rises by 1.10%, and 🇸🇬 SG20cash gains 0.30%. 💱 FX market: the strongest performer is 🇳🇿 NZD after the RBNZ decision, while the weakest is 🇯🇵 JPY. USDJPY edges up 0.10% even with a softer dollar, and NZDUSD jumps by 1.15%. 🏦 RBNZ cut rates by 25 bp to 2.25%, but the tone remained clearly hawkish. The bank signalled the end of the easing cycle, expecting the OCR to stay near 2.25% until early 2026 and then rise toward 2.65% by late 2027. This sharply reduces any chance of further cuts. 🇦🇺 AUD strengthens after Australia’s inflation accelerated again. October CPI rose 3.8% y/y vs 3.6% expected, the fastest pace in 10 months.
