U.S. President Donald Trump said Iran is seeking negotiations over its nuclear program, claiming, “They’ve called many times. They want to talk.”
He added that Iran is aware of the strong U.S. military presence nearby and defended U.S.-backed Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, arguing that under a different president, Iran would already have nuclear weapons and might have attacked.
